The Distillers' Charity

The Heart of the Drinks Industry

About us

Charitable giving is at the heart of life in the Distillers’ Company. The Distillers’ Charity (no. 1193683) was established in 1955 to carry forward the Livery’s philanthropic work.

Our Vision

To make a difference to young people, including those within the distilled spirits trade, helping them to reach their full potential, improve their life chances, and make a positive contribution to their communities.

Our Mission

To support organisations working in the field of vocational training, alcohol education, and other drinks industry and Livery-related charitable causes. Our work is currently focused on four areas:

  • Vocational training: to provide support and education to assist promising, young entrants to the UK spirits trade to develop their knowledge and skills and encourage high standards of distilling practice and service.
  • Alcohol-related education: to help young people to enter adulthood having a healthy relationship with alcohol and mitigate potential harm caused by drinking.
  • Past or current members of the drinks industry: to address the needs of those suffering mental health issues or hardship.
  • The Master’s, The Lord Mayor’s and other Livery-related charities: to support the Master’s charity of the year and the Lord Mayor’s Appeal.

Thank you to for supporting the Distillers’ Charity and helping to deliver our charitable goals.
